Applications for certification

Section 55 of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 allows the Information Commissioner to certify that a specified act or practice of a Victorian public sector organisation is consistent with an Information Privacy Principle, approved code of practice or information handling provision of another Act.

This page lists certifications that have been made by the Information Commissioner, along with the relevant certificate.

Certification – Victorian Auditor General’s Office

This certificate was issued in 2016 by the former Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection. It certifies that the Victorian Auditor General’s Office’s act of providing notice of indirect collection during its financial and performance audits of the Victorian public sector is consistent with the requirements of Information Privacy Principle 1.5.
