Victorian Law Week: Rights and challenges when accessing government information

In Victoria, you have the right to access documents held by government.  As part of Victorian Law Week, OVIC will be covering what your rights are under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 – also known as the FOI Act.

In this presentation, you will learn more about:

  • why we need an FOI Act
  • what is covered in the FOI Act
  • where you can submit an FOI request
  • the kind of documents you can ask for
  • how OVIC can help you

We’ll also equip you with some useful tips and tricks to help navigate the process.

This event is open to anyone wanting to learn more about the FOI Act in Victoria.
