Engaging contracted service providers

Following consultation in late 2024, this resource has now been updated. An updated version of the guidelines and a summary of the received feedback are now available to view and download.

OVIC has developed new guidance on outsourcing in the Victorian public sector to assist organisations to manage the information privacy and information security requirements when engaging with third parties. A short guide, providing a summary of the long form guidance, is also available.

The case studies provide detailed examples of the thing organisations should consider when entering into outsourcing arrangements. The case studies will be updated in 2025.
