Class B Information Asset Register

Why is it important?

Developing and maintaining an Information Asset Register (IAR) will help your cemetery trust keep a consistent record of its information for future generations.

Completing the IAR can help you implement activities mentioned in the Protective Data Security Plan.

Knowing and documenting the following supports good information security practices for effective and secure management of cemetery information:

  • What types of information your cemetery generates, holds and manages
  • Where your information is located or stored
  • Who is responsible for the different types of information
  • How sensitive and/or important this information is
  • Whether the information is suitable for unlimited public release or publication

WHAT IS IN THE INFORMATION ASSET REGISTER?

This document contains:

  • instructions for how to complete each section
  • a blank IAR template
  • an example of a completed register that can be referred to as a guide
