- In Victoria you have privacy rights when interacting with government organisations which limit what personal information can be collected, how it is used and disclosed. OVIC 2018-19 annual report now published

OVIC’s 2018-19 annual report was tabled in Victorian Parliament on Thursday 17 October.

The annual report highlights key milestones for 2018-19 across freedom of information, privacy and data protection.

By addressing new and complex challenges in 2018-19, OVIC had the opportunity to define, solidify and mature its role as a regulator.

In 2018-19 OVIC received an increase in data breach notifications, dealt with a record caseload of FOI reviews and complaints and completed the first reporting cycle for agencies under the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework.
