Privacy Authorities Australia Joint Statement on Complaint and Enforcement Cooperation

On 2 April 2019, Information Commissioner, Sven Bluemmel and Deputy Commissioner, Rachel Dixon along with OVIC staff attended the Privacy Authorities Australia (PAA) meeting. PAA is a meeting of Australian Privacy Commissioners and other Privacy Authorities.

OVIC proposed that PAA create a cross-jurisdictional complaint and enforcement working group and endorse principles on cooperation.

This new initiative will be directed at improving cooperation in respect to complaint handling and enforcement work, to achieve the best outcomes for privacy complainants and the community.
