Process versus Outcome – Investigation into VicForests’ handling of a series of FOI requests

The Information Commissioner commenced an investigation into VicForests’ handling of a series of FOI requests on 16 March 2022. The objective of the investigation was to determine whether VicForests complied with the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic) (FOI Act) and the Professional Standards in the handling of the FOI requests and in its dealings with the Information Commissioner in relation to the handling of a complaint made against VicForests.

The investigation report was tabled in the Victorian Parliament on 8 March 2023.
