Privacy Awareness Week launch
To kick off our PAW celebrations for 2026, acting Deputy Commissioner, Privacy & Data Protection Anthony Corso was joined by Dr Jake Goldenfein from the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-making and Society (ADM+S) at our launch event.
Dr Goldenfein shared insights from a recent ADM+S research study into the procurement and deployment of AI technologies in the Victorian public sector.

In this 15 minute lightning talk, Amelia, Senior Privacy Advisor and Conciliator, stepped through the known risks and challenges when using Generative AI tools, and set out some key tips for individuals to keep in mind when using them.

In this short Privacy Awareness Week lightning talk, Anna and Jeremiah, Senior Privacy Advisors and Conciliators at OVIC, explained function creep, how it interacts with the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) and what steps can be taken to lower the risk of non compliance with the IPPs.
