Seminar: Responding to data breaches
OVIC’s Privacy Guidance team will be delivering a seminar during Privacy Awareness Week 2019 on responding to data breaches. It seems that barely a week goes by without news stories about high-profile data breaches.
But what are the privacy impacts of a data breach? And how should organisations respond when they experience a breach? This seminar will provide guidance in response to these types of questions by exploring how data breaches can affect individuals, government organisations and public trust, before looking at how organisations can prepare for a data breach. It will then consider how organisations can respond to the privacy aspects of a breach by walking through a four-step process that focuses on a harm-minimisation approach.
It will include an exploration of examples and case studies with an opportunity for a Q&A at the end.
If you are unable to join us on the day, you can tune in live via Periscope. The live stream will be available via our Twitter account, through a link that will be posted at the commencement of the forum.
This session is aimed at VPS agency staff.
