Right to Know Day public forum

Community expectations and FOI – are they at odds?

International Right to Know Day is celebrated every year, on 28 September, to raise awareness of the importance of open and accountable government and the community’s right to access government held information.

Join us as we celebrate Right to Know Day 2019 with a public forum. Hear from guest speakers about whether community expectations of FOI and how the FOI Act is administered are at odds, and if so, how they may be reconciled.

Key event details:

Date: Tuesday, 24 September 2019
Time: 12:00 – 1:30pm (followed by refreshments)
Where: The Wheeler Centre, 176 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne

We are delighted to welcome Professor Moira Paterson, Monash University, as the panel moderator, and the following guest speakers to participate in the panel discussion:

  • Clay Lucas, The Age
  • Melanie Olynyk, Maddocks
  • Robin Davey, Victoria Police
  • Joanne Kummrow, Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner

Light refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the event. The event will also be live streamed on Twitter for those unable to make it in person.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
