Information Access Series: the benefits of proactive and informal release of information

OVIC encourages Victorian government agencies to release information proactively and informally, without the need for an FOI request, where possible. Proactive and informal release enables greater public access to government information with less formality and expense.

To assist FOI practitioners and other agency staff to better understand and embrace opportunities for the proactive and informal release of information, OVIC staff will be delivering an Information Access Series webinar on Wednesday 17 August 2022 from 12pm – 1pm.

This session will focus on realising the benefits of proactive and informal release and highlighting best practice examples and ready resources.

This webinar will:

  • discuss the benefits of releasing information proactively and informally;
  • outline key enablers and best practice examples of proactive and informal release; and
  • highlight resources available to assist agencies.
