Administering the Freedom of Information Act
This all day training provides Victorian public sector staff with a sound understanding of the practical application of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic). It includes:
- an overview of the scope and objectives of the FOI Act;
- a structured approach to processing applications;
- time frames, decision making, and fees, charges and deposits; and
- refusals under section 25A.
Participants are provided a 'Guide to Freedom of Information in Victoria' manual which details how to administer the FOI Act, process applications, and interpret and apply the exemptions.
